Mohamed El Ghannam

Mohamed El Ghannam is a Certified Financial & Investment Analyst and he holds a B.A. in Economics. He joined Commercial International Bank (CIB) in 2008 and has built his career in the fields of corporate finance, financial analysis, investment valuation and financial modelling. He participated in teaching the bank’s credit course, the establishment of the CIB’s fully owned Corporate Venture Capital firm dedicated to invest in FinTech start-ups (CVentures), the incorporation of Fawry Plus for agent banking, the development of the bank’s 5-year strategy, the formulation of CIB’s Expansion Strategy in Africa and the establishment of CIB’s representative office in Ethiopia, the bank’s first cross border presence in Africa. 

He also participated in the bank’s strategic initiative with the American University in Cairo (AUC) Venture Lab to support financial technology startups “FinTech Accelerator” through providing finance and investment mentorship for entrepreneurs.

Currently, Ghannam is a Venture Capital Director at CVentures, CIB’s Venture Capital arm, where he is a senior member of the investment team leading the firm’s portfolio management activities including all aspects of the investment process including deal origination, assessment, execution and business development
